Irwin Brodsky, MD, MPH is a practicing endocrinologist and health services researcher who earned his MD & MPH at Northwestern University Medical School, and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University & a fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism at the University of Vermont. He operates an outreach clinical program for the Maine Center for Diabetes.
Before coming to Maine in 2002, Dr. Brodsky was Associate Professor of Medicine & Nutrition at the University of Illinois & Associate Director of the General Clinical Research Center. He is developing a research focus in the determinants of clinical outcome in diabetic patients experiencing severe hypoglycemia. His previous research has focused on protein metabolic responses to dietary protein restriction & hormone & nutrient interactions.
