Darby works on several different projects that examine stigma and its impact on socially devalued groups and those with certain health conditions, support needs for cancer survivors, and, more generally, social drivers of health inequity. Previously, she worked with several community organizations that provide support and center lived experiences of survivors of gender-based violence and human trafficking. Before coming to MaineHealth, Darby worked as a refugee health case manager where she helped newly arrived refugees establish care with primary care and specialty care, coordinated three clinic partnerships for both adults and children, and advocated for equitable interpretation in practices her clients attended.
