MaineHealth REDCap and Tufts CTSI REDCap are independent systems and require different login credentials.
You will still be able to use the Tufts CTSI REDCap for your ongoing projects, in which case no further action is needed.
WHO’S ELIGIBLE?
REDCap is available to individuals who are working within the MaineHealth system.
Individuals who are not working directly within the MaineHealth system and are actively collaborating on a project with a named MaineHealth collaborator, can obtain a conditional MaineHealth REDCap account with limited features.

RESOURCES
REDCap account management
User account management (e.g., password recovery) for individuals who are not within the MaineHealth system.
MaineHealth users will use their current MaineHealth username and password, which are assigned and managed by MaineHealth IS (i.e., the same username and password you use to log into your MaineHealth computer).
Basic consultation
We can provide basic guidance on survey and database development and brainstorm project-specific solutions.
Group tutorials
Available upon request and reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

HIGHLIGHTS
Security: REDCap is fully HIPAA compliant.
Cost: Free for basic use. There may be additional costs associated with some advanced features.
Web-based: Enter data from anywhere in the world over a secure web connection with authentication and data logging. You can access REDCap using any device with internet access (e.g., smartphone, tablet).
Fast & flexible: Create a production-level database or survey in less than 1 day.
Survey respondent management: Easy to manage your contact list of survey responses or create a simple survey link.
Piping: Insert previously collected data into question labels, survey invitations, etc. for a more customized experience.
Multi-center trials: Data can be entered from multiple centers, where each center only has access to their own data.
PDF: Save your data collection instruments as a PDF to print and/or share.
Data Dictionary: A variable/field reference file (e.g., Code book) is automatically created for you.
Audit trail: All changes to data/databases are logged for data audit purposes.
Data Quality: Allows you to write and on-demand custom data checks (e.g., missingness), with features that make updating your data easy!
Custom reports: Create custom reports to view or download.
Data export: Exports data in common statistical files (SAS, Stata, SPSS, R) and other formats (CSV, CDISC).
Send files to others securely: Use ‘Send-It’ to upload and send files to multiple recipients.
Advanced features: Auto-validation, branching logic, calculated fields, double data entry, some external applications can connect to REDCap remotely via REDCap’s Application Programming Interface (API) with the appropriate permissions, etc.
Missing Data Codes can be used to designate certain codes to indicate if data is missing, uncertain or otherwise problematic. These allow you to mark individual fields as having suspect data, and are used in new Data Quality rules and functions.
Rich text editor makes it easier to format forms, surveys and emails. You can also view and modify the HTML of fields, which allows for more customization.
Alerts & Notifications allows you to set up automatic email notifications to users and participants where certain conditions are met. Create reminders, notify study staff of issues, and much more.
Improved reports include to include descriptions, customize user access, searchable folders, filters, and consolidates checkbox options into a single column for cleaner viewing.
Data Privacy options now comply with the European Union Data Privacy (GDPR) and right-to-be-forgotten guidelines by removing certain data from the auditing log.
Smart Variables let you capture user and project information, such as usernames, instrument names, and the REDCap version/URL (for creating links between or within projects).
Action tags allow you to hide fields on PDFS, accurately capture the time a form/survey is filled out, default responses.
REQUIRED CITATIONS
Please use the NIH CTR grant citation below whenever you use the MaineHealth REDCap:
This work was supported in part by the Northern New England Clinical and Translational Research grant U54GM115516.
Boilerplate language recommendation for research manuscripts:
Study data were collected and managed using REDCap electronic data capture tools hosted at MaineHealth. REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure, web-based software platform designed to support data capture for research studies, providing 1) an intuitive interface for validated data capture; 2) audit trails for tracking data manipulation and export procedures; 3) automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to common statistical packages; and 4) procedures for data integration and interoperability with external sources.
