The MaineHealth Research Compliance Office

The MaineHealth Research Compliance Office is responsible for providing training and support to clinicians, faculty and staff in regulatory requirements for scientific research. The Research Compliance Office seeks to promote and ensure the highest standards for research compliance throughout MaineHealth.

In addition, the Research Compliance Office is also involved in other key areas of research administration at MaineHealth:

HRPP

Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) is committed to protect the rights, welfare and privacy of humans who participate in our human research programs.

IRB

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) ensures that ethical and safe research practices are used when research is conducted with Human Subjects. IRB approval is required before beginning any research with human subjects.

Conflict of Interest

MaineHealth’s Financial Conflict of Interest in Research policy adheres to the Code of Federal Regulations 42 CFR §50 & 45 CFR §94 that promotes objectivity in research.

RESEARCH MISCONDUCT

At MaineHealth, Research Misconduct is a violation of honesty and integrity in the research process.
