Dr. Hu’s research interests and experience focus on the quality and disparities in cancer care, particularly in lung cancer, precision medicine for lung cancer, and immune-related adverse events.

Dr. Hu has investigated racial disparities in lung cancer care among Asian Americans, examining these disparities across the continuum of care, from screening and front-line treatment to palliative care and end-of-life care. She also has a strong passion for investigating the delivery of precision medicine and novel therapies in the real world, especially in populations that are underrepresented in clinical trials and socially disadvantaged. Additionally, Dr. Hu has worked on a study examining the risk factors for immune-related adverse events (irAE) and irAE’s impact on patient outcomes in lung cancer patients treated with immunotherapy.
