Dr. Christian Thomas is a practicing hematologist-oncologist and Director of Clinical Research at New England Cancer Specialists. He is also an attending physician at the Vermont Center for Cancer Medicine. Dr. Thomas earned an MD from Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Thomas’ areas of clinical expertise are in thoracic and genitourinary malignancies. He serves as an advisor to the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Northern New England Clinical Oncology Society and CMS/Medicare. Prior to his arrival in Maine in 2012, Dr. Thomas practiced hematology-oncology in Vermont for 13 years.
