David Groft joined NorDx in 2017 as a Lab Research Coordinator. David’s primary responsibility is coordinating and facilitating all aspects of clinical research trials and investigator initiated research studies for MaineHealth Institute for Research (MHIR). David works closely with the MHIR Clinical Trials Office, and with Bob Carlson, MD, and Anne Breggia, PhD in the Center for Applied Science and Technology in coordinating clinical and research resources needed for advancement of research and improved patient care.
David has a Master of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and more than 20 years of experience in both research and clinical laboratories. His career began in breast cancer research and genetic testing at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Following his work in Pittsburgh, David joined The Foundation for Blood Research in Scarborough where he was Supervisor of the Molecular Laboratory and Director of Client Services. Just prior to his current role at Maine Health, David was a Clinical Improvement Coordinator at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
